The Emily Stubb Story: Show Notes

Emily Stubb is a documentary filmmaker who’s environmental activism exposes issues such as food inequity in her hometown of Baltimore. Recognizing that the lack of access to nutrient dense food is an endemic crisis occurring in Baltimore City, Emily decided to highlight the stories of everyday people effecting positive change and reclaiming their human right to healthy food. Her short documentary, Deserted, which premiered at the 2019 Maryland Film Festival, has gained critical acclaim and continues to be screened throughout the country. Emily holds dual degrees in Documentary Filmmaking and Environmental Studies from Ithaca College. During our interview we discuss the depth and meaning of food apartheid, how producing films can make or break a leader, and giving up sugar (the struggle is real).
